Your wonderful template editor would be even more useful if I could either maximize it or be able to rescale its window size.

I'm running in 1900x1200 at the moment yet even in 1080i I have to drag the bar at the bottom to get to the File and Tools menus after everything I do. The resize control is there on the lower right of the window but when I use it the window snaps back to its original, fixed size.

Wonderful software package though, Pinco.

you can reduce the window size and gain the scrollbars... unfortunately windows application don't have the scale option :D

I know it's been a few months since I visited this topic, Pinco.

Please explain why the window of the template editor cannot be enlarged. It cannot be a limitation of Windows certainly as most Windows applications all of us use every day can be maximized to match the current screen resolution.

Thanks, Pinco :)

I'm speaking about the scale option pinco's UI style.
The maximize/enlarge is disabled since there is nothing to put in the blank area around :D

So THAT is why maximize is disabled in the template editor.....oy v'galt....

Let it just be white space. As it is I have to use the scroll bars to bring portions of the screen into view and, thus, I'm spending lots of time navigating the window that could be spent using what's inside the window.

Your template editor is the great undiscovered treasure in the treasure chest of things you've created for this game. You wrote an astounding tool. You wrote a wonderful manual for it. Seeing the whole screen would make is so much easier to use.

Really.

Thanks, Pinco :)

Please....let me see the whole screen, Pinco *cups hands in prayer*

This is what I see when I load the Template Editor. This is as large as I can make the screen. The window resizing control in the lower right allows me to make the window smaller but not larger.

You can see that everything I'd do would require using the scroll bars. Each use of the scroll bar is another task for the user.

seems you are using the large fonts... unfortunately I've not tested with this setting and neither with the smallest version. I'll see what can I do for it in the next version.

I didn't select large fonts. I think the font selection was automatic at this resolution. If you could see my screen you'd agree that it would unusable if they were smaller.

The screen I attached was heavily cropped down from full screen on my monitor.

Thank you, Pinco :)

I investigated, Pinco, and indeed I am not using large fonts at all. Rather, the fonts are enlarged by default.

Attached is my font selection screen. I'm running in 1920x1080 which is pretty much standard HD these days.

Thus I believe my difficulty is far from unique and that your upcoming changes will have broad value.

Thanks again :)

The default is smallest... as you can see medium is 125% of the size :)

Not so. Look at the screen shot again. Note that 125% is the default.

We're not talking about logic here. We're talking Windows ;)

Two points:

  • I gave you a screen shot from my computer. And it says 125% is default on this machine. It's an Allienware M17 laptop, not an odd, off-brand computer.
  • I am nearly 60 years old. Are you trying to blind me? Lots of UO players are not kids....lots of them saw the first moon landing live on television :)

We got off on a bit of a tangent there, Pinco. Ultimately it's not relevant what is or is not the default font size. Rather, I think we agree that the template editor should allow users to choose larger fonts and still be able to see the whole screen of the editor.

I know you're deep into a new release of your UI. Any idea when you will be creating a new version of the template editor?

Thank you :)

Actually I have no release date for it... however this size thing is the only thing missing for the new version so will see how much time it takes :P
For sure I have to finish the new UI version first :)
